The Ingersoll Rand round shank / oval collar chipping hammer allows the bit to move freely and accommodate the surface you are working on such as a curved surface or rock. If you have determined that you need the bit you are using in the chipping hammer to rotate while using then you want the round shank, oval collar (0.68") style. This shank type allows your bit to rotate or turn in the tool while you are pressing against your work.
